Social Emotional Learning Curriculum for LGBTQ+ Middle and High Schoolers

Be YOU is the first and only research-informed, evidence-based curriculum for LGBTQ+ youth that helps them take care of their mental health.

Our mission is to help LGBTQ+ youth care for their inside worlds so they can influence the outside world.

Why Be YOU?

Be YOU brings the community of an LGBTQ+ drop in center, support of group therapy, and benefits of social emotional learning directly to youth through structured curriculum and insightful activities.

We support our facilitators!

Online Resources.

Implementing a group for teens can be tough! That’s why we provide plenty of support via our online learning management system to help our facilitators succeed.

Lesson Notes.

The Be YOU curriculum has extensive “notes to facilitators” so you can implement each lesson effectively.

Videos + Webinars.

Additionally, our 101 webinar provides knowledge about working with LGBTQIA+ youth, and our instructor videos provide sample lessons and facilitation tips specific to the curriculum.

What Participants Are Saying

“This group kept me together, I feel that this group is a really great support system and that I’d most definitely join again. Advice to give to the group would be to always be you no matter what, life is limited, make the best out of it while you can.”

— Student feedback about the Be YOU Program, 2018 - 2019

“I found I really enjoyed the group and always looked forward to coming - and in relation it just helped with my overall enjoyment of school.”

- Student feedback about the Be YOU Program, 2017 - 2018

“No matter if we discontinue this group and move on with our lives, this group will forever be a part of who I am. When things get tough, remember all the positive moments and thoughts the LGBT group shared. Be strong, fight for what’s right and live for yourself. We are a community.”
